FONTERRA: FROM COMPETITION TO COOPERATION
Fonterra was established in 2001 through the merger of 2 competing dairy companies with the New Zealand Dairy Board. I was privileged to be involved in managing the transition to a successful cooperative that is now New Zealand’s largest multinational company controlling 30% of the world’s dairy exports.
My achievements included:
- Strategic development and implementation of a new centralised support services model including values, objectives and KPI/Balanced Scorecard measurements
- Preparation for staff relocation across New Zealand sites
- Successful change management and new culture development among managers and staff implementing a new customer service delivery model
- Design and implementation of new company culture initiatives within the Fonterra Centre, and alignment of other corporate sites with the new cultural values
